Yep, that’s about right. I keep telling my son (8)  he’s an apprentice, but honestly I see how spazzy he is with things like “getting clean in the shower” so I’m not sure removing a hot oil drain plug is a good idea yet.

Only times I’ve worked on cars with my dad was when we did brakes and gave up because we had to drop a sway bar to do the rears and another time when he pulled the drain plug for the transmission and I very nearly lunched it because I drove around the block dry.

Then a month ago he helped me replace an axle and I got to tell him what to do

true.. dude had many skills... pretty much a survivalist

used to be a shipyard welder but the fumes put him on disability (health n safety wasnt much of a thing back then)

turned into a bit of a mad hippy after that

then additional illnesses from years of undiagnosed diabetes crippled n killed him

such is life

he did... this was one of lifes twisted little jokes

bi monthly check ups for years and the bloodtests always showed up just dandy

course.. it was a 10 mile bike ride to get those check ups and bloodtests

so by the time he got there the excercise would have leveled everything out nicely

nobody connected the dots till it was to late

in a funny old sort of way all that healthy excercise killed him...lol
